A FREE one-page quick reference sheet that outlines the proper use of a guard opening scale, the history of the guard opening scale, plus the differences between the OSHA (CFR 1910.217) and ANSI guard opening scales. Part of our library of quick reference sheets.

A FREE, one-page quick reference sheet that outlines machine safeguarding requirements for bench and pedestal grinders. OSHA 29 CFR SubPart O 1910.215 is a machine-specific (vertical) regulation with a number of requirements, which if left unchecked, are often cited by OSHA as violations. This grinder safety sheet includes work rests and tongue guards, ring testing, wheel covers and PPE. Part of our library of quick reference sheets.

A FREE, one-page quick reference sheet that outlines machine safeguarding requirements for lathes. OSHA 29 CFR SubPart O 1910.212, ANSI B11.6 and NFPA 79 standards are referenced. This lathe safety sheet covers chuck shields, chip/coolant shields, telescopic metal sleeves, self-ejecting chucks, magnetic motor-starters with dropout protection, main power disconnects, lockout/tagout and danger signs. Part of our library of quick reference sheets.

A FREE, one-page quick reference sheet that outlines machine safeguarding requirements for press brakes. OSHA 29 CFR SubPart O 1910.212, ANSI B11.3, ANSI B11.19, and NFPA 79 standards are discussed. This safety sheet covers mechanical and hydraulic press brakes, light curtains, two-hand controls, stop-time measurement (STM), Active Optical Protective Devices (lasers) and Safe Speed Safeguarding, perimeter guarding, lockout/tag out, and danger signs. Part of our library of quick reference sheets, designed to be used in combination with our Die Safety Blocks and Guard Opening Scale quick reference sheets.

A FREE, one-page quick reference sheet that outlines machine safeguarding requirements for die safety blocks (also known as safety blocks, ram blocks, die blocks or prop blocks). OSHA CFR 29, Subpart O, 1910.217 (d)(9)(iv) and ANSI B11.19-2003 are referenced. This safety sheet covers die block types, die block electrical interlock systems, die block calculations and danger signs. Part of our library of quick reference sheets.

A FREE, one-page quick reference sheet that outlines machine safeguarding requirements for mechanical power presses. OSHA CFR Subpart O 1910.217 and ANSI B11.1-2009 standards are discussed. This safety sheet covers point-of-operation guards, awareness barriers, light curtains, two-hand controls, OSHA inspections, lockout/tagout and danger signs. Part of our library of quick reference sheets, designed to be used in combination with our Guard Opening Scale quick reference sheet.

A FREE, one-page quick reference sheet that outlines machine safeguarding requirements for robots. Robots are machines, and as such, must be safeguarded in ways similar to those presented for any hazardous remotely controlled machine, falling under the general duty clause or OSHA 1910.212(a)(1) or 1910.212(a)(3)ii. ANSI/RIA R15.06-2012 is the most recent U.S. Standard on Industrial Robots, which requires that perimeter guards contain the robot automation. Part of our library of quick reference sheets, designed to be used in combination with our Guard Opening Scale quick reference sheet.

Technical Report on PSDI is a FREE technical report that gives an in-depth explanation of PSDI (presence-sensing device initiation), its advantages, how it is applied, and the requirements of the standard.  The report also has color photos showing a step-by-step demonstration of PSDI in both the single-break and double-break tripping arrangements.  Part of our library of machine safeguarding catalogs.
